Police responded to a call from a grocery store that claimed George Floyd had used a forged check. When located in his car, police said, he resisted officers. Cell phone video showed Officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck 8 minutes and 46 seconds until he was dead. Three other officers were present and didn't stop the assault. The four officers were fired the day after the killing. Chauvin was found guilty of the murder.
